Part of the POUSH “bureau des penseur.euses” (thinkers office) came together to imagine under the Coupole, There is no lonesome wave, a group exhibition on the subject of water, its currents and its properties, both literal and figurative. A theme long explored by curators Justine Daquin, Elena Posokhova, Lê Thiên Bảo, and Claire Luna.
Lê Thiên Bảo takes inspiration from East and Southeast Asian tides rituals in À Marée Basse, Elena Posokhova proposes I landed, an observation on the power of Mediterranean water on the imagination of its inhabitants. And if Justine Daquin, Shapeshifters invokes water as a portal to metamorphosis and other possibilities, Claire Luna, Irresistible explores its capacity for infiltration as a strategy for resisting or fighting.
The four proposals can meet in certain places and collide in others, like islands in an archipelago. Geometries change and islands float. So far, the co-curatorship has always been merged into a single text, into a fusion form. This time, the curators will cross their gaze in polyphony.
